Hi Larks,

Welcome to our new practise notes page!

This week we need to try to practise our 3 home scales! We have the music for D major in our book, please work on playing this with single notes up and down. Use the same finger pattern playing starting on your G string and C string to play your other scales. Use these scales to create some rhythms for next week – we did breakfast rhythms (Cereal and milk would be ti-ti ti-ti ta sh for example) – try some more of these or come up with your own ideas for a rhythm to play on each note in these two scales.

We also looked at the piece Dark Horse, working on our forte, fast notes and spotting the note B on our stave. Next week we will look at how to improvise patterns in the middle section – but if you want to have a go on your own, please do! I would love to hear your ideas next week!

We also looked at Harmonics from our Cello Time Starters book in the first week back too – keep exploring these with Harmonick-y thing!

Have a great practise!

Stephen
