Today we practised our D scales at slow and fast speeds. The important thing is that the speed is consistent. Can you choose a speed, count yourself in at that speed (count to 4) and then make your bow move at that speed for the whole scale?

Make sure you are keeping your bows between the bridge and fingerboard and that you are doing your very best left hand posture.

We talked about keeping the left wrist down so we can get ready for 4th fingers.  Fox, your 4th finger on A was sounding great today well done.

Please practice the following exercise:

E E stop rock D D x4        (Fox, instead of open E you will need to play 4 on A).

E E stop D D x4

E D D stop x4

E 2d 2d x4    or    E F# F# x4

2a 2a 2a E 2d 2d x4    or   C# C# C# E F# F#

Find this bar in Autumn (our piece of music).

Can you practise this bar while looking at the music? Perhaps a grown up could point at the notes while you play.

When this bar is feeling confident then play the first 2 lines of this piece. We will be doing it in a performance so please make sure you have a practise of it before next lesson.

Have a lovely half term break :)
