Hi Bluebirds!

Welcome to our practise notes page! I’ll post on here each week to help you remember what you should be practsing!

Make sure you are sitting tall with your cello, you need:

Feet Flat on the floor, toes pointing forwards and your cellos resting on your Knees, Chest and never Shoulder! The cello should be on the left hand side of your head, or resting on your heartbeat!

Practise:

“Rain is falling Down” with a strumming pizzicato

Remember your String names with the question Can Grannies Do Athletics? (CGDA from low to high).

“Have you Brought your C string? Yes we have, Yes we have” with the response on each string (ti-ti ta, ti-ti ta) with a thumbs-up pizzicato.

Make up your own patterns using ta, ti-ti and sh – try for 4x4beat patterns and play one on each string.

Make up some of your own patterns using two or three different strings.

Practise the piece Manhattan Blues with this Video – it shows you which strings to play:

Please buy the books Cello Time Starters and Vamoosh 1 for next lesson!

Thanks and happy practising!
