We spoke about set up and sitting. Maybe a small wedge/block/book under the left foot to aid holding the main body of the bass at the correct angle
Clever kids starting their musical reading with recognising notes on lines or spaces and G D and A strings on the musical clef(bass clef)

….then play and speak
Do as much as your child can concentrate at one time.
