Lesson Notes, Half term

Hi Bluebirds,

I hope you are all having a great half term break, but don't forget to find some time for cello too!

This week we added our swinging arms to our Cello Time Starters pieces - this adds a bit of challenge as you have to make it back to the finger board in time to find the next string you need.

Use your F -clef note key to help you work out the notes for St. Anthony Chorale, and play with the backing track. You will get faster at learning your notes if you practise saying your alphabet from a-g forwards and backwards a lot - this is a tricky skill to develop, but it gets easier with practise!

Willow Waltz is sounding nice, but we just need to really feel the pulse of the music and pluck our notes really in-time with the track - try listening to the track just thinking your music, then playing your cello imagining the track, then put them back together. All the way through, feel really solidly the beats in groups of 3!

You can also try Manhattan Blues again - this time reading the music.

Next lesson in our starters book, we will encounter a heart beat with two alphabet names in...have a think what you think this might mean...?

Well done,

Stephen
