I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year! Thank you to Luicie who is looking after you for a few weeks whilst I am away.
Today we worked on our Cobbler Cobbler bowing (D string, A String, E string and C string, making sure that you are using whole bows, traveling between Manchester and London stations.
We then worked on rocking between strings silently, making sure our elbow is helping our bow cross the strings.
From Violin Star Book 1 we played:
- Crocodile
- Uncle Joe
- Trolls, Orcs and Gibblins
- Fingerboard Map- Please practice drawing a fingerboard map this week. This needs the open strings and the finger number 1 notes!
- You can then practice the fingerboard map on your violins with "Mountain Rockers". This is the same as before but we add finger number 1 to each string as below!
- GGGG 1111 "Rock onto the next string"
- DDDD 1111 "Rock onto the next string"
- AAAA 1111 "Rock onto the next string"
- EEEE 1111 "Rock onto the next string"
