Hi Larks,
Well done today! In our lesson we focused on recapping the notes on the G string G A and B, and putting the notes we know together to start building our D major scale (doh to la)
Warm Up: D major Scale Builder, doh to la (sheet in bass bags)
We worked on the 3rd and 4th sections of D major scale builder sheet in our lesson using:
D E Fis (on the D string)/doh re mi/0 1 4
G A B (on the A string)/fa soh la/0 1 4
Practice these singing the note names, then the solfa, then finger numbers as you play as we did in our lesson.
Piece 1: Tudor Dance (Mattachins) (Sheet)
Don't forget to practice the first two lines of this before your lesson next week!
New Piece: London Bridge is Falling Down (Sheet is in Bass Bags)
Fantastic work from both of you working this one out in our lesson! London Bridge uses D E Fis and G A B.
Remind yourself of, and find the 3 bars that use 'mi fa soh' - can you practise this first? Fis G A (4 0 1)
Remember that we have to cross from the D string to the G string to play these three notes
Remember 'London Bridge' in B. 1 and B. 5 only uses our G string notes.
