Hi Thejal, Tharoon and Mia :)

Well done for your work today. We worked really hard on First Finger Rag and playing together, this is now sounding really good so you can play this piece for fun if you wish :)

We talked a lot about note names and how the notes work on the stave. It's OK for now if this still feels a bit confusing. The main thing you need to know at the moment is:

1) The alphabet in music goes up to G, then starts again at A e.g.

A B C D E F G A B C D E F G A B etc.

2) First finger note names:

1on G = A

1 on D = E

1 on A = B

1 on E = F sharp (F#)

(I'll explain why it's F# soon, but for now, just try and remember that 1 on E is F#)

For your practice over half term please look at Gow's Reel. The first half was sounding really confident well done. Try to work on the second line as well. The first two bars are minims/strides so you will need to use a slow bow for these.

Please do our usual routine:

Sing the notes names

Sing the finger numbers

Pluck it

Bow it

Here is a picture of our whiteboard after we had talked about all the notes:

Have a lovely half term break! See you soon.
