Hi Sophie and Bea
Well done today!
We used 014 fingerboard maps (which should be in their bass bags) which they used to fill in all of the finger 4 notes on each string.
Warm up: Mountain Rockers 0000 1111 4444 on each string.
Once you feel secure with the LH on each string, and after preparing the LH before you play using the sticker as a guide, try playing without looking at your fingers.
When you are confident to play without looking at your fingers, use the fingerboard map and sing each note name as you play.
New piece: Rain is Falling Down
Sing first with words, then solfa, then finger numbers as we did in your lesson today.
Rain is falling down (splash!) x2 mm rr d rest
Pitter patter x2 mm rr
Rain is falling down (splash!) x2 mm rr d rest
There is a version of Rain is Falling Down for each string on the music sent home today. Remember this song starts on finger 4 (reverse Miss Mary Mac!) and follows the same finger pattern on each string.
Make sure you are using enough bow to make a lovely sound.
Drawing sharps - also on Rain is Falling Down sheet, there is a draw in the sharps exercise which we started today and you can complete at home.
