Hi Bluebirds,
Well done for a great lesson on Saturday!
We looked at two different dynamics and three different articulations this week - try and practise these with D string Rock. They were:
Forte - loud
Piano - quiet
Legato - long and smooth
Staccato - Short and Spikey
Spiccato - light and bouncy
We learnt a new rhythm - a minim, 1 sound that lasts 2 heart beats. In your book this is called a slow-walk, but I prefer the word 'stride' for a two beat note - imagine yourself taking a big long step that lasts two heartbeats. Try Classical Sounds, and the rhythm pattern from the Minum page of Cello Time Starters to practise this new rhythm.
We also did some Left Hand Pizzicato with 'Popcorn' - have a go at this, we are going to start looking at our finger notes on the D string again in the next few lessons.
Well done,
Stephen
