Hi Bluebirds
Today we worked really well on our D major scales.
Please could you sing your scale in the following ways:
Do | Re | Mi | Fa | So | La | Ti | Do' |
D | E | F# | G | A | B | C# | D |
D | 1 | 2 | 3 | A | 1 | 2 | 3 |
Please pluck it first, doing 2 plucks per note (e.g. D D 1 1 2 2 etc.)
Then bow it. Start off by doing 4 bows per note, and then 2 bows per note.
If going up your scale is going really well, then I would like you to practise the following little exercise:
A A A A 3d 3d 3d 3d A A A A 3d 3d 3d 3d
(while playing the A get your fingers hovering over the D string so you can jump to 3d on time without any gap in the sound)
When that gets easy try:
A A 3d 3d A A 3d 3d x2
A 3d A 3d A 3d A 3d A 3d
Then try the D scale again going up AND down.
We had a brief look at Strictly Tango. Please look at the first and last lines following our usual pattern of sing it, pluck it, bow it.
