Super work yesterday Larks, and very good listening from you all!

We did a lot of work on our new song, Ripe Banana:

We learnt how to sing it, and then we deciphered the rhythms together without even looking at the music!

We then played the rhythms on our A and D strings, really listening out to the quality of our sound on our violins and making sure that we were playing together. We definitely all sounded better when we had our violins in a tabletop position and paid attention to our bow holds. A good bow hold allowed us to maintain a steady point of contact on the strings and also allowed us to glide from one string to the other.

Task for the week

Figure out what pitches we have in the first two lines of music, this means figuring out 3 things:

-What string (above the note)

-How many fingers (above the note, next to string letter)

-Note name (below the note)

Write these into your music in light pencil. Light pencil please! I will be rubbing these out as soon as I possible.

Please listen and practice the song at home a little bit so you are more familiar with it 😊

Have a super lovely week! See you on Saturday.

Best wishes,

Mari-Carmen
