Hi Bluebirds,
Well done for another great week!
We worked more on our bow holds this week, practising on each string as well as on our knees. Keep checking that your thumb makes an L-shape and you have lot of space in your hand. Practise some different rhythms on each string. You can also practise Jig and Drunken Sailor using your bows.
We also learned that there are 7 different notes - a b c d e f and g. We only need 7 because after g, we go back to a again! Your stave shows you high and low pitch using the lines and spaces, and the F-clef shows you which line is F. Once you have found that F-line, you can count up or down from there to work out what any note is. This means that our A string sits on the top line, D on the middle line, G on the bottom line, and C on two extra lines below. Look at the F-clef note key attached, practise finding notes using your hand stave (using your fingers like lines). Then use this to try the piece St Anthony Chorale from Vamoosh.
Have a great week!
