Hello Bluebirds,

Apologies for sending you these notes a little later than usual, I hope you have had a fun weekend and are ready for the week ahead!

On Saturday we focussed on:

- Reading D and A on the stave. Thank you so much for bringing in your homework from last week, it was lovely to hear you perform it, it was also a great chance for us all to practice reading D and A. Our new song, Hydom Tiddlydom has many Ds and As, so first see if you can read the music at home without the violin. Then with the violin try singing and playing at the same time.

-Pizzicato. Or Pizz. As it appears written in music. Unfortunately it’s not pizza… sorry! It means to pinch the string. So remember, thumb on the pointy bit of the fingerboard and crab finger to pluck the string. Hydom Tiddlydom is all pizz.!

-Bow bunnies and bowing open D and A strings. Before wrapping up we played Manhattan Blues as an ensemble. It was sounding great! Continue practising it at home and remember to keep your musical chicks happy.

Best wishes,

Mari-Carmen
