SCHOOL OF CONDUCTING
As a student in the School of Conducting, you will benefit from working with a large range of student ensembles in rehearsal and performance environments.
Among the many opportunities provided to you, these may include:
Brand New Orchestra (a full symphony orchestra) - once a term
New Ensemble (a Sinfonietta-sized group) - once a term
Brass Band, Wind Ensemble - as opportunities arise
Composers' Lab (a Sinfonietta-sized group) - 8 times in the year
Conductors' Ensemble (single wind and string) - 4 times in the year
Conducting Mastersclass (symphony orchestra) - 3 times in the year
Junior Fellow Conductors will also benefit from working as Assistants to the professional conductors of the RNCM Concert Orchestra, Opera, Symphony Orchestras.
Notification of your involvement in a college ensemble will come in the first instance from the Conducting Administrator (Esther Wakeman). Following this, it is your responsibility to make contact with the Orchestra Office to pick up scores/performing materials and liaise with the team about your contribution at rehearsals and concerts.
