Dear Aiden, Ben, Phaedon, Tobin, Fox, Cillian and Jude
What a fun lesson we had altogether!
We practised our D major scales. We worked on making them smooth and connected, especially when going from open A string to 3 on the D string. We then sang the note names in a round, which sounded beautiful.
Perhaps you could practise that at home?
We can think of our notes in two ways - finger numbers and note names. It's important that we know both.
D 1d 2d 3d A 1a 2a 3a 2a 1a A 3d 2d 1d D
or
D E F# G A B C# D C# B A G F# E D
We then started to look at Autumn in your violin star 1 books. Please try the first line.
Say finger numbers
Say note names
Pluck it
Bow it
Try the next three bars if you want to.
Remember good left hand posture!
