Hi Bluebirds,

Well done for another great lesson - we have added Drunken Sailor and Jelly on a Plate to our list of pieces - in Jelly on a Plate, note that there are sometimes two sounds on a beat - a ti-ti.

Bow hold - not on our cellos yet - just on our knees!

1) Find Belly Button Bow

2) Make and L shape with your Thumb and the bow hair

3) Make lots of space in your hand so you are holding the bow with your fingers, not a fist.

Remember not to touch the horsehair with your fingers.

Practise a 'Flip' to your knee, and a few side to sides before going back to belly button to check that your fingers are still in the same shape.

The try this with the rocks backing track I send last week: the pattern should go:

'1, 2, flip and go pull, push, pull, push back to the start flip' and repeat along to the music. Please stick to bowing on your knees this week, so that the movement feels very comfortable before we try and put it on our cellos in the next lesson!

Well done!

Stephen
