An exciting lesson today as we started using our bows!

Please remember not to touch the hair of the bow.

When holding your bow.....remember to make a bunny rabbit (not a fox) in your hand first. (Thank you to Marc for letting me photograph his hand!)

Make sure your fingers and thumb are all curled - no straight fingers!

When you hold the bow - open the bunny's mouth and put your thumb on the black leather bit on your bow, hang your fingers over the bow stick, be sure you spread your fingers out - no scrunching together.

You could also look at the 'Help with holding bows' section on Moodle too.

'Rainbows' bowing exercise: Place your bow on the A string near your hand, then pull the bow across all 4 strings, use the whole bow length.....then cross back up across all 4 strings from the C string, back towards your hand. You should be making an arch shape/rainbow shape across the strings. Remembeer to keep your bow in the BOW ZONE!

Have a go at filling in 'Picture Time' on page 10 in your Starters book.

Keep playing - but only plucking:

'Drunken Sailor'

'Jelly on a plate' (below is a little recording that's a bit slower than online)

Don't forget to have a look at Sarah's Ensemble section too!

See you all next week! 🎶🎻
