Hi Bluebirds,

Hope you are having a good week so far!

Keep developing our dynamics and articulation: Remember to change your Weight, Speed and Position (WaSaP) to change your dynamics - we have been trying to find 4 distinct sounds for pp, p, f and ff. Use different side to side motions with your arm to create our 3 articulations, legato, staccato and spiccato.

Using your LH notes, please practice each note with a fun rhythm on each note, listening carefully for a clear sound and really secure intonation (tuning). Also try some of these patterns to help develop your ability to change fingers clearly:

443344 sh 334433 sh

331133 sh 113311 sh

110011 sh 001100 sh

Using your repertoire books, please finish all of the pieces on page 26 and 27 of Cello Time Starters - you should be able to use your F-clef and F line to work out the notes for each of the pieces.

From Vamoosh, please look at Coconut Tree, Grand Old Duke and Hokey Cokey - with all three pieces, identify the moments where there are quicker changes of note and zoom in and practise these sections, before trying to play the whole piece.

Have a great week of practise!

Stephen
