Hello Bluebirds!
Hope you're enjoying the sunshine.
Here is a little recap of what we did on Saturday to jog your memory, and task for home is below:
-Low do (D string) , So (A string) , High Do (3 fingers on the A string). We became more familiar with the steps of how to find our High Do. Remember to softly cover the thumb sticker, no need to grip the neck of the violin of the thumb as we are mostly balancing the violin on our collarbone and shoulder (tabletop position). Also remember that we are trying to keep our left hand fingers curly and soft, especially our last finger joint!
-Rhythms on High Do. We put together 4 beat rhythm patterns and played them together on High Do.
Task to do at home:
Can you come up with your own 4 beat rhythm pattern and play it on Low Do, So and High Do?
To do this you will need a sheet of A4 paper and draw 4 big hearts in a row. Then you need to fill each heart beat with a rhythm, which could be any combination of: Ta, Ta rest, Ti-ti, Taa (watch out, 'Taa' takes up 2 heart beats)
If you're not sure how to draw these rhythms don't worry, we can help each other draw them in on Saturday and play them together.
All the best,
Mari-Carmen
