Some great work yesterday!

We are making good progress with our D string left hand notes. Have a go filling in the top of Page 28 (Starters) - 'Writing time' (not 'Roller Coaster Quiz').

Easter challenges:

Under the Coconut Tree (Vamoosh no.15) Have a go at singing it first, the backing track is below. You could sing solfa, fingers or note names.....

d - 0 - D

r - 1 - E

m - 3 - F♯

f - 4 - G

Make sure your fingers hold the string down firmly and use big bows.

Bow Rock (printed sheet given out yesterday)

Excellent note spotting in our lesson yesterday. Most of this piece is on the D string but watch out for the odd A string and G string!

Use long bows especialy on the minims (two beat notes) and an even slower, longer bow in bar 23 (a four beat note!)

The track starts with 2 bars 'click' track to give you the speed of the crotchet/ta beat, then the piano has a 4 bar introduction before you come in and play minims/too-oo notes.

(Please don't get confused with the notes on the You Tube clip - it is for the violin - but the piano part is the same.)

I look forward to seeing how you get on with these two pieces after the Easter break!

Don't eat too many easter eggs!......keep up the practice!
