    • If your life is at risk right now

If you feel like you might attempt suicide, or may have seriously harmed yourself, you need urgent medical help. Please:

      • call 999 for an ambulance
      • go straight to A&E, if you can. Find Accident and emergency services services - NHS (www.nhs.uk)

If you can't do this by yourself, ask someone to help you. Mental health emergencies are serious. You're not wasting anyone's time.

If you're in the RNCM and require first aid or emergency services, contact Reception (call 0161 907 5300 or extension 300 from a College phone). We have specially trained staff who are there to help you and can coordinate the help that you need.

    • If you don't want to call 999

If you can keep yourself safe for a short while, but you still need urgent advice:

      • Call NHS 111 if you need urgent medical help or you're not sure what to do.
      • Find a local NHS urgent mental health helpline (England only)
      • Call the Greater Manchester Mental Health FREE 24/7 helpline: 0800 953 0285
      • Visit a Crisis Service. The GMMH NHS website has details of the different services available around Manchester. Many of them are open late into the night.
      • Ask for an urgent appointment with your GP. A GP can advise you about helpful treatments and also help you access mental health services. Find your GP or local NHS service.
      • This guide from Mind explains what mental health crisis services are available, how they can help and when to access them. It also explains how you can plan for a crisis.
